Lost Sphear – Announcement Trailer

Lost Sphear – Announcement Trailer

From the same developer of “I Am Setsuna” – Tokyo RPG Factory, revealed their new classic style JRPG – Lost Sphear, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in early 2018.

Lost Sphear follows a young boy, Kanata, as he awakens from a devastating dream to find his hometown disappearing” could be “The adventure of LOST SPHEAR begins in a remote town where a young boy, Kanata, awakens from a devastating dream to find his hometown disappearing.

Lost Sphear looks identical to their previous game, with the classic old school battle system, top-down isometric camera view, pastel-colorful art direction, and nice music. Hopefully the final release will have distinctive features of its own. Also glad to see that Square Enix is bringing back the classic style JRPG, although it’s not an AAA title, good enough for an old schooler like me.

NBA Playgrounds – Arcade Style Basketball Returns

NBA Playgrounds – Arcade Style Basketball Returns

This is good news for NBA JAM fans, the return of the arcade basketball game – NBA Playgrounds, developed by Saber Interactive, the 2-ON-2 arcade basketball is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC in this coming May 2017.

NBA Playgrounds will indeed bring back the nostalgic good old days playing either the arcade or the console versions (SNES, SEGA GENESIS) of NBA JAM; as well as the latest revival of NBA JAM: On Fire Edition for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Although NBA Playgrounds does not bare the NBA JAM title, when I first saw the trailer, “WELCOME TO… NBA JAM!” will simply pop into my mind; and I see NBA Playgrounds as the spiritual successor.

NBA Playgrounds will only be in digital version for $20, this is a must have!

Dragon Quest XI Japan Release Date Announced

Dragon Quest XI Japan Release Date Announced

Square Enix confirmed the Japan release date of Dragon Quest XI on 29 July 2017, for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS.

Dragon Quest series is a big deal in Japan, thus Square Enix put a lot of efforts to market the game to Japanese DQ fans. There will be a special Dragon Quest XI bundle that comes with the game’s PS4 version and its Nintendo 3DS one. The bundle will be available on launch date for 14,960 yen (US$135) and is only available through Square Enix’s e-Store, Lawson, and HMV. This seems like the first time to have multi-platform (different companies) game disc/cartridge of the same game packed in a bundle together.

The Nintendo 3DS version of the game features two type of graphical display, cel-shaded and old-school 16-bit pixel graphic. The PlayStation 4 version will have high-fidelity 3D graphic.

Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest XI also announced, so presumably that version is coming later.
